Responsibilities
- Fabrication of product according to specification & drawing(s) to a tolerance that ensures acceptance & quality.
- Extensive knowledge of the standard methods, materials, and equipment used in the welding fabrication trades.
- Setting up and operating trade machinery such as welding machines, oxy-fuel cutting torches, performing layouts, coping, and grinding.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Planning the sequence of tasks and deciding how to fit efficiently and accurately
- Utilizing material handling, rigging, hoisting, and lifting equipment to move completed assemblies safely
- Extremely detail oriented, strong problem-solving skills
- Performs related duties as required.
- Interpret welding process specifications
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawing's specifications, manuals and processes; examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/ or specifications.
- Build aluminum boats
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Experience in aluminum TIG welding is a requirement
- Valid Trade License - CWB Certification (GTAW) is an asset
- Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required in fabrication.
