Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver holding Class D License to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vans and heavy equipment to transport goods efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in driving, load handling, and vehicle maintenance will ensure timely deliveries and uphold our commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or specialized equipment, ensuring secure placement for transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures during daily operations.
- Local deliveries to the customers around GTA, Montreal(Overnight stay), Windsor.
- Operate Electric logbooks.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and address any logistical issues promptly.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during loading/unloading processes while adhering to proper safety protocols.
Qualifications
- License Class D with good driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery operations, or related roles with a strong focus on safety.
- Mechanical knowledge of trucks and heavy equipment such as front loaders, rear loaders, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle types operated.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during cargo handling activities.
- Familiarity with load securing techniques for various truck types including flatbeds and dump trucks.
