Role Overview
The General Maintenance Labourer is responsible for delivering high-quality lawn care, garden maintenance, plant health, and seasonal cleanup services for residential and commercial clients. This position is hands-on, outdoors, and physically active, supporting our crews in maintaining properties to a professional standard.
This role does not include snow removal or winter operations but we can assist in finding those opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lawn & Turf Care
- Grass cutting using push mowers, ride-ons, and trimmers
- Trimming and edging of lawns, walkways, and beds
- Blowing and cleanup of grass clippings and hard surfaces
- Core aeration and overseeding
- Dethatching and power raking
- Basic turf and lawn health monitoring
Plant Health & Garden Maintenance
- Weeding and cultivation of garden and landscape beds
- Hedge and shrub trimming
- Application of soil, compost, and mulch
- Basic pest and plant health services (where trained and licensed)
- General bed maintenance and clean presentation of planting areas
Seasonal Services
- Spring cleanups (winter debris removal, bed prep, edging)
- Fall cleanups (leaf removal, cutbacks, final property cleanup)
- Loading, unloading, and disposal of yard waste and debrisEquipment & Site Responsibilities
- Safe operation and care of landscaping tools and equipment
- Daily job-site setup and cleanup
- Reporting issues with equipment or site conditions to crew lead
- Following company safety procedures and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in landscaping, lawn care, or general outdoor maintenance preferred
- G License and good driving record. Able to drive truck and trailer as needed.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically able to lift, carry, and perform repetitive manual tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Reliable transportation to yard or job sites
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience with commercial or residential lawn maintenance
- Knowledge of turf care, plant health, or garden maintenance
- Experience operating landscaping equipment
- Pesticide or plant health licensing (or willingness to obtain)

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
