This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office -Scarborough at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) for a Commercial banking Application plays a critical role in translating business needs into functional and technical requirements for the platform. The BSA acts as the key liaison between Business stakeholders, Technology Delivery, Architecture, and downstream applications to ensure it supports efficient, compliant, and user-friendly workflows.
Your future duties and responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Business Analysis
- Engage with Commercial banking Operations, Product Owners, and Customer Experience teams to understand operation workflows around commercial lending credit fee and identify requirements for building a new application.
- Document business processes, usability needs, operation pain points, and regulatory requirements.
- Create user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, process flows, and specific functional specifications.
- Analyze the impact of changes on credit fee workflows, downstream systems, audit logging, and customer experience.
2. Solution Design Support
o Work with architecture and development teams to define the optimal technical solution that aligns with business objectives.
o Participate in design discussions, impact assessments, and system integration planning.
o Support API requirements, data mapping, and downstream/upstream system alignment.
3. Stakeholder Communication
o Act as the primary liaison between business partners and IT teams, ensuring consistent communication and shared understanding.
o Manage requirement walkthroughs, approvals, and sign-offs.
4. Testing & Validation
o Develop test scenarios and support QA in validating the solution.
o Perform UAT coordination, defect triage, and requirement traceability.
o Ensure delivered features meet the accepted criteria and business objectives.
5. Project Execution & Support
o Support project planning, sprint activities, backlog grooming, and change management.
o Assist in readiness activities, documentation, training materials, and post implementation support.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Must have Skills & Competencies:
- 6yrs+ IT BSA experience with Agile delivery model.
- Deep understanding of banking workflows, operations, and regulatory requirements.
- Preferred domain skills : Lending (Mortgage)
- Strong skills in workflow mapping, process analysis, and user centered design.
- Experience with API requirements, integration patterns, and multi system interactions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams.
- Proficiency with Agile practices and tools like Confluence, Jira.

- CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
