Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Front Desk staff member to join our dental practice. This role is full time. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental , and proficiency with office management systems. Prior experience in dental, especially with electronic records and multi-line phone systems, is highly valued. The front desk administration staff play a crucial role in maintaining smooth daily operations and providing exceptional patient service. This role is an excellent position for a dental assistant wanting to switch to an administrative role as there may also be sterilization and treatment planning involved.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival, creating a positive first impression
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records using systems such as Abeldent
- Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, including billing and insurance processing
- Maintain organized appointment schedules to optimize office workflow
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Support the dental team by preparing necessary documentation and assisting with administrative needs during patient visits
- Possibility of sterilization and treatment planning for the right candidate
Requirements
- Prior experience as a dental professional is preferred
- Proficiency with electronic dental records systems such as Abeldent is preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience managing multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Office experience demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and courtesy
- Strong administrative skills including data entry, filing, and document management
