Job Summary
Kepler Canada is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and grow our Ontario HVAC sales operation. This is a player-coach role responsible for managing a team of 3–5 sales professionals while personally handling key dealer relationships and high-value opportunities.
You will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with ownership on sales strategy, dealer programs, pricing structure, and territory expansion. You will inherit an established team, proven products, and an active customer base that now requires stronger structure, process, and forecasting to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of 3–5 across business development, territory sales, and account management
- Set KPIs, conduct regular 1-on-1s, and complete formal performance reviews
- Recruit, onboard, and ramp new sales hires using a structured 90-day plan
- Maintain a culture of fairness, consistency, and accountability
Dealer & Channel Development
- Own dealer onboarding end-to-end: qualification, credit review, pricing tier assignment, and ramp support
- Expand dealer coverage across Ontario, especially Northern, Northwestern, and Eastern regions
- Manage dealer tiers (Distributor, Strategic, Tier 1/2/3) and enforce pricing discipline
- Resolve channel conflicts and pricing disputes
Revenue & Forecasting
- Own Ontario revenue targets (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Maintain accurate forecasts with ≥85% accuracy
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline (minimum 3× coverage)
- Lead pricing approvals and margin control on large or complex deals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Inside Sales / Order Processing to ensure quote-to-order accuracy
- Work closely with Technical Support on system selection and dealer guidance
- Collaborate with Finance on credit policies, payment terms, and dealer limits
- Provide market intelligence on competitors, pricing, rebates, and regulatory changes
Process & Systems
- Help build and document SOPs: dealer onboarding, quoting, forecasting, lead routing
- Contribute to commission plans, rebate programs, and dealer incentives
- Represent Kepler at industry events (HRAI, CMPX, dealer training sessions)
Qualifications
Required
- 8–12 years of HVAC sales experience (distribution, manufacturing, or wholesale)
- Minimum 3 years in sales management or senior territory leadership
- Direct experience with the Ontario HVAC dealer / contractor channel
- Strong technical knowledge of furnaces, heat pumps, ductless systems, and AC
- Proven personal sales performance (quota-carrying background)
- CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar)
- Valid Ontario driver’s license; willingness to travel 30–50%
- Authorized to work in Canada
Preferred
- HRAI certification(s)
- Experience in a mid-sized or growth-stage HVAC organization
- Familiarity with Ontario rebate programs (Greener Homes, IESO, Enbridge HER)
- Experience designing dealer programs, pricing tiers, or commission structures
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $110,000 – $160,000, based on experience
- Uncapped commission / bonus (OTE $200,000 – $250,000)
