Night Security Guard

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, professional, and approachable Night Security Guard to help ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests during our busiest evenings. This position is primarily scheduled on high-occupancy nights and during weddings or special events, when additional overnight supervision is required.
The successful candidate will patrol the property between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., helping enforce resort policies, responding to guest concerns, promoting a quiet atmosphere, and providing a visible security presence throughout the resort.
Expected Schedule
- Approximately 4 shifts per week
- 6-hour shifts (10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.)
- Weekend and holiday availability is required
- Schedule will vary based on occupancy and events
Responsibilities
- Patrol the resort regularly on foot and by vehicle.
- Enforce Whispering Springs' quiet hours and guest noise agreements in a respectful and professional manner.
- Help maintain a safe environment for guests, visitors, and staff.
- Provide a visible security presence to discourage theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other inappropriate behaviour.
- Monitor wedding receptions and special events, assisting in maintaining a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.
- Respond calmly and professionally to guest concerns, disturbances, emergencies, and incidents.
- Monitor guests who may be visibly intoxicated and help de-escalate situations before they become problems.
- Document incidents and complete nightly security reports.
- Communicate with management regarding any significant issues or emergencies.
- Contact emergency services when required.
- Assist with locking or securing facilities at the end of the evening as directed.
Qualifications
- Excellent judgment and strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable walking outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ontario Security Guard Licence (strongly preferred)
- Previous security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience
- Smart Serve Certification (an asset)
- First Aid and CPR Certification (an asset)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk the property for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
