Job description:
Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain network. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage freight movements, communicate effectively with drivers and clients, and utilize various transportation management systems to ensure timely deliveries. This role is vital in maintaining smooth operations across shipping, receiving, and overall supply chain functions, supporting our commitment to excellent service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating daily workflow for trucks, trailers, and drivers
- Managing fleet resources according to availability and schedules
- Working with Maintenance on coordination and planning of equipment servicing
- Ensuring driver compliance for online orientations
- Planning and scheduling for plant interruptions, outages, haul diversions, holidays, etc.
- Reviewing driver documents for accuracy and approving billable & payable hours
- Reviewing dispatch schedules and plant details daily and strategically re-evaluating plans to respond to changes
- Communicating with customers and drivers to ensure optimal operations and customer satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
- Negotiate rates with brokers when needed
- Provide after-hours or weekend support as required
Experience
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations, freight management, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy in typing and record keeping.
- Demonstrated analysis skills to interpret logistics data and optimize dispatch operations.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and professional communication skills to handle inquiries effectively.
- Previous experience working with 3PL providers or in a logistics/distribution environment is a plus.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $17.00-$30.00 per hour
