Electronics Testing Technician

The Opportunity: Lotek is currently looking for a highly motivated Electronics Testing Technician capable of working in a team environment to join our Production department. This is a 12 month contract role with the potential to convert to a permanent position.
Requirements:
- Must have Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent
- Must have two or more years of experience testing electronics and/or electrical products
- Proficiency with hands-on hardware building, testing and troubleshooting
- Have operational familiarity with electronic test equipment (Oscilloscope, power supplies, network analyzers, spectrum analyzer etc.)
- Experience of a full cycle of an electronics product development from designing, NPI to production is an asset
- Soldering capability using a microscope is an asset
- Knowledge of RF, acoustic and GPS technologies and RF communication protocols and modulation techniques
- Experience programming with Python language / Arduino environment is an asset
- Must have strong communication skills, being able to clearly communicate in English (verbal and written) and follow verbal instructions
- Must be a team player and self driven with excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and test electronics devices using a variety of jigs, equipment’s and computer systems, following defined procedures and pass/fail criteria
- Troubleshoot and repair failed products; document findings and provide feedback and findings to improve production yield and quality
- Coordinate with coworkers and prioritize tasks to meet production quotes
- Assemble electronic and mechanical components using hand tools such (e.g. soldering iron)
- Handle and troubleshoot RMA products including transmitters and receivers
- Set up and maintain test equipment's and stations to perform required testing and programming tasks
- Communicate technical issues with Production, Engineering and other technicians, and follow up to resolution
- Other duties as assigned, including occasional production assembly work
