Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Orthopedic Technician/LPN Clinic Nurse to join our team. Candidates must be motivated to make a difference in each patient’s experience. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who focus on the safety and service of each patient. You will work with a supportive management team that will provide flexibility and healthy work-life balance.

Position Class: Orthopedic Technician/LPN Clinic Nurse (dual pay classifications)
Shifts: 4-8 shifts per month
Tentative Start Date: June 2026
Responsibilities and Duties
- Scheduling of patients and ensuring that required paperwork for WCB is completed pre and post appointments.
- Answer telephone inquires from patients.
- Respond to WCB regarding requests for information.
- Prepare clinic and surgical paperwork.
- Demonstrate the ability to function to the full scope of Orthopedic Technician designation.
- Apply, adjust, and remove plaster and synthetic casts, splints, and braces for patients.
- Maintain the cast supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Assist with wound care, and the application or removal of sutures and pins.
- Accurately complete all administrative tasks associated with the position: charting and documentation; communicate education and teaching to patients; and explaining resources to patients and family.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary medical team to ensure safe and timely care.
- Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program.
- Active registration with CLHA.
- Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopedic Technician program.
- Valid Basic Cardiac Life Support - BCLS-HCP.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with casting.
- Exceptional use of judgement.
- Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and supportive of others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for prolonged periods of time is required.
- Computer skills including experience with electronic charting an asset.
