THE ROLE
As a Store Manager, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You manage the store operations: maintaining and maximizing sales while controlling expenditures and reviewing stock relative to sales and gross profit, taking corrective action if needed. You ensure the latest market changes, operating procedures and corporate selling practices are applied and provide coaching to employees regarding these practices.
The Store Manager develops marketing strategies and ensures effective use of advertising material and in-store signage. You use proper layout and display techniques for merchandise, ensuring the overall visual aspect of the store creates a favorable customer impression. You prepare budget estimates, monitor revenue and expenses, prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising, gross profits, and loss prevention. You act as the CANEX local representative and ensure local concessionaire’s corporate objectives are achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
Food Handling Certification, as required
Experience
In retail operations management
In planning, managing and evaluating the operations and delivery of marketing and promotional programs for retail products and/or services
In business planning and budgeting
In cost-benefit analysis
In preparing reports
In budget administration
In personnel administration
In drafting, editing, and interpreting policies/procedures for merchandise and services
In developing marketing and promotional strategies
In building and mentoring a team of sales people
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
In using inventory information software
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset
