Join Beacon Community Services as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) at Parry Place! We are excited to be expanding our Assisted Living services under BC’s new model of care and are hiring for a regular night line. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a newly formed team and contribute to building a supportive, person-centred care environment from the ground up. In this role, you’ll provide daily living support, encouragement, and companionship to seniors in a respectful, home-like setting, helping residents live with dignity, independence, and comfort while making a positive difference every day.
Days/Hours of Work: Casual coverage needed for days - 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and evenings - 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm

What You’ll Do

Help residents with daily living activities (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting).

Support safe mobility, transfers, and use of lifts/assistive devices.

Assist with meals, hydration, and comfort routines.

Support resident laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and returning personal items as needed.

Facilitate recreational and social activities.
-
Provide medication reminders and support self-administration.
-
Observe and report changes in resident health or behaviour.
-
Keep rooms and equipment clean and safe.
-
Participate in team meetings and respond to emergencies.
-
Other duties as required
What You Bring
-
Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program.
-
Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.

First Aid & CPR Level C, FoodSafe Level 1
-
Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home support
-
Respectful, compassionate, and patient approach.
-
Good communication and documentation skills.
-
Ability to work independently and in a team.
-
Physically able to perform lifting, transfers, and other duties.
