To support our expanding On-Site Mobile RV Service, we are looking for a highly skilled, independent, and customer-focused Red Seal RV Service Technician to bring our top-tier shop expertise directly to our customers’ campsites, homes, and properties.Position Overview
As a Mobile RV Technician, you will step out of the traditional shop environment to act as the face of Galaxy RV on the road. Operating a fully equipped company service vehicle, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex RV systems independently. This role requires exceptional technical mastery across multiple trades (electrical, plumbing, propane, and structural) alongside outstanding customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Diagnostics & Repairs: Travel to designated locations across Vancouver Island to diagnose and repair plumbing, 12V/120V electrical systems, solar/lithium setups, propane systems, appliances (furnaces, fridges, water heaters), slide-outs, and structural components.
- Sealant & Roof Care: Inspect, repair, and replace seams, vents, joints, and roofs to protect vehicles against harsh West Coast weather.
- System Maintenance: Perform on-site winterization, de-winterization, and comprehensive top-to-bottom safety inspections.
- Customer Service Excellence: Explain diagnoses clearly to customers, provide transparent repair estimates, and uphold Galaxy RV's reputation for friendly, reliable care.
- Documentation: Accurately complete digital work orders, parts requests, and documentation required for ICBC or third-party extended warranty claims.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all mobile repairs meet safety codes (including CSA Z240 RV Series standards) and maintain a clean, organized, and safe mobile service unit.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Must hold a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Recreation Vehicle Service Technician.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Journeyperson RV Tech; prior mobile service or field technician experience is a strong asset.
- Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Technical Skill: Advanced proficiency in reading schematics, diagnosing complex electronic/propane faults, and working independently without immediate shop supervision.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and maneuver in tight RV spaces.
- Tools: Must possess a comprehensive set of personal hand and diagnostic tools suitable for the trade.
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
