At Crieff Hills Retreat Centre, we believe that lives are changed when people are welcomed with generous hospitality, given space to rest, and invited to encounter the Divine in community and creation. We're looking for a Spiritual Animator to join our core staff (management) team to help lead that work. This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves bringing people together, creating meaningful experiences, and nurturing faith. You will build on an already thriving retreat ministry while expanding ways for people to experience rest, renewal and transformation.
About the Role
Working closely with the Executive Director and core staff, the Spiritual Animator combines hospitality, leadership and administration in a collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning meaningful events, building relationships and creating opportunities for spiritual growth. Working alongside the Executive Director, core staff and program leaders you will plan and organize on-site, on-line and hybrid programs that offer rest, renewal and transformation.
Responsibilities
· Plan and administer overnight retreats, day programs and special events
· Cultivate a new weekly gathering for spiritual practice
· Develop spiritual, educational and community day programs
· Build relationships with local churches, community organizations and program leaders
· Develop and manage a budget that contributes to the financial sustainability of Crieff Hills
· Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a healthy, positive workplace
We're looking for someone who:
· Has strong event planning and organizational skills
· Enjoys building authentic relationships with a wide variety of people
· Excels at managing multiple projects at a time
· Has experience in financial management including budget development
· Has knowledge of the Christian tradition and the Presbyterian Church in Canada
· Works well independently, as a leader and as part of a team
· Is available to work on-site in a flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings and weekends depending on retreat programming and the guest calendar
Compensation & Benefits
· Salary starting at $75,000. Housing allowance, study leave and vacation entitlements may be negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
