Overview
Reporting to the Executive Sous Chef, Events Chef and Sous Chefs, this position has the unique opportunity to provide an excellent culinary experience to guests with a team of passionate and skilled people. All while enjoying a beautiful view of our vineyard each day!
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing food in accordance with company standards; for restaurant and events.
- Works in areas of restaurant, wood oven pizza and/or events.
- Take a leading role in training and coaching junior staff and apprentices.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times.
- Clean the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas, take out garbage.
- Ensure station opening and closing is up to ravine’s standards.
- Works with team to receive, stack, and properly store food in kitchens, cold storage, and storerooms.
- Transfer food and supplies to the kitchen as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 years of experience in same or similar position within a first-class culinary environment.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of food and wine pairings.
- College Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts.
- Red Seal certification an asset
- Experience with MS Office Suite and other restaurant software.
- Food handler’s certificate.

- Leadership: Must be able to delegate, control a fast paced environment; strong decision making skills.
- Communication: This position requires excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills.
- Organization: Must be able to easily access and store many types of information on a daily basis.
- Multitasking: Must be able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks while maintaining sanitary and safe environment.
- Adaptability: Able to accept changing conditions and new information in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical: Must be able to use kitchen equipment, will be required to work long periods without rest, occasionally lift or move objects over 50LBS.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays on a regular basis.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $20.25-23.75
- Included in our controlled tip system.
