Natural Stone Traders Inc. (NST Stone) manufactures and wholesales (Business to Business) natural stone and porcelain for residential and commercial landscaping projects across Ontario and beyond. We aspire to provide a selection of our stones at every retail landscaping supply location in Canada. This role is to fill an existing vacancy and requires extensive travel.
Our Outside Sales and Marketing Representative (you!:) will drive daily across Ontario (50-200km daily, occasionally 400+km with overnight stay) to visit retail stores & guide existing or new customers in selecting, ordering and receiving stones and tiles from our outdoor yard. As well as scout for new leads and turn potential customers into recurring ones, with excellent customer service at every step. Who We Are
Since 2012, NST Stone has been manufacturing and wholesaling outdoor natural stone and porcelain. Our main office and yard are located in Stouffville, Ontario. We supply various landscaping supply stores and Garden Centers in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), across all of Ontario and beyond in other provinces.
Our goal is to provide the highest quality stones with the best customer service. It makes us happy to see our stone or tile being used by landscapers, designers and homeowners alike. We aspire to help create outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Responsibilities
Sales- 80% of the job
- Physically travel to landscape & masonry supply stores, garden centers, offices, etc., in Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and across Ontario e.g. as far as Windsor, Sudbury, Ottawa, Niagara Falls and every city in between. Please refer a map before applying.
- Visit assigned existing customers and build new relationships by identifying new sales opportunities. You will do the territory assigned to you, along with occasional visits to areas outside your territories. You must be comfortable with long car travel. You will be driving all day.
- Prospect leads, Research prospects, cold-call, set appointments, make effective sales, and manage continued sales cycles (CRM) in a B2B environment. Track and record progress at each step and work on meeting sales goals.
- Convince leads to create display areas at their stores of our products in order to increase sales. Organize stones on display in a pleasing manner.
- Ensure the up-keep of display areas at your assigned customers, ability to carry up to 40 lbs. and change displays as needed. Visit other customers based on company needs.
- Relay numerical information like product sizing in person and in writing. Training provided.
- Visit our stone yard in person as needed, and create pleasing sample packages to deliver to customers in order to sell products.
- Answer inquiries through various channels, e.g. email and phones etc.. Identify needs, provide specifications (specs.) and send pictures as required. Create quotes through checking inventory and price sheets. Organize photos in folders.
- Work with customers and company managers on custom orders, provide lead times by communicating with management and coordinate everything from inquiry, to manufacturing to pickup.
- Follow up with customers to get feedback on products and pictures of our products. Adjust techniques according to interactions.
- Search for and attend industry trade shows, training sessions and more.
Marketing- 20% of the job
- Possess in-depth product knowledge, conduct demos. Willingness to learn.
- Assist in creating promotional materials in digital and print formats.
- Generate social media campaigns/posts for Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook.
- Follow up with landscapers and set up dates for photo shoots.
- Visit job sites to take photos and videos, provide merch to customers.
- Keep up to date with market and industry trends through in person events and educational webinars.
General
- Attend weekly team meetings and occasional team building activities.
- Represent the company well by being presentable, well groomed and wearing company branded merchandise.
- Very occasional travel to other Canadian provinces.
Skills & Requirements
- High School diploma. University Degree in any field is preferred.
- G driving license. Own car.
- A basic understanding of our website and products.
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
- 1 year sales experience in any setting.
- Experience with natural stone and porcelain is an asset but willing to train someone who is passionate.
- Knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Canva, Maps, and M.S. Office Suite.
- Goal setting and ability to create a clear path to achieving goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through personalized service and ongoing support.
- High organizational skills. Love order in the midst of chaos.
- Experience writing emails in a professional or school setting.
- Understanding blog writing and email marketing is an asset or willing to learn.
- Designing on Canva, plus an understanding of social media, is an asset.
- Blender, CAD and Landscape Design skills are an asset, but not necessary.
- Able to make long distance travels. Able to stay overnight at hotels occasionally (paid stay and food budget) for work purposes.
- Self-motivated with excellent prioritization/time management skills.
- Experience taking pictures is an asset and using photo editing apps.
- Follows company regulations closely.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits
- 38k annual salary based on experience + commission on sales.

Hours
Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm, on call for customers to answer inquiries outside of these hours. Occasional weekend work for events.
