Role
Please note that the internal title for this position is Accounting Assistant.
As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role within the team by supporting various day-to-day accounting operations. Through your organizational skills and attention to detail, you will contribute directly to the quality and efficiency of our financial activities.
Professional and versatile, you will work closely with the team to support accounting processes, monitor files, and help advance operational priorities. You will participate in analyses, recommend improvements, and actively contribute to the smooth execution of daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Complete and coordinate accounts payable follow-up for assigned partners;
- Prepare grant application files, including creating customers as vendors and collecting required documentation;
- Extract, build, compile, and analyze reports as needed;
- Perform month-end activities by analyzing revenues and expenses related to assigned products;
- Create customer accounts and prepare customer invoices;
- Enter and update pre-authorized payment requests in the system for assigned products;
- Follow up with customers regarding rejected payments for assigned products;
- Work closely with the Accounting Assistant responsible for the Heat Pump product line;
- Collaborate with team members on various accounting-related tasks.
Ideal Qualifications
- College diploma in Administration, Office Administration, or another relevant field;
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in similar functions;
- Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations module) and GP accounting software (asset);
- Strong analytical mindset and excellent attention to detail;
- Ability to communicate and explain accounting information clearly to customers;
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills;
- Quick learner with a high level of autonomy;
- Available to work full-time (37.5 hours/week), Monday to Friday during daytime hours.
- Fluent in French, both spoken and written; knowledge of English is considered an asset.
