SJGHEL is seeking an energetic and community-focused Foundation Strategist to lead and advance fundraising, donor engagement, and community partnerships in support of St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake and the St. Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake’s strategic priorities. Reporting to the Vice-President, People, Strategy and Corporate Services & Chief Human Resources Officer, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing annual fundraising plans, strengthening donor relationships, and ensuring effective stewardship of philanthropic contributions. This role is responsible for leading campaigns and community engagement initiatives, overseeing donor communications, and ensuring that every donation is used effectively and aligned with the needs of patients, residents, clients, and their families.
Working closely with the Foundation Board, hospital leadership, and external partners, the Foundation Strategist will build strong relationships to inspire philanthropic investment, enhance community awareness, and elevate the profile of the Foundation.
The successful candidate will bring post secondary education in a relevant field and 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, communications, or donor relations, ideally within healthcare, not for profit, or public sector environments. You are a strong relationship builder who can engage and inspire donors, stakeholders, and community partners. Highly organized and results oriented, you excel at managing multiple priorities, leading projects, and delivering impactful campaigns. You combine strong communication skills with sound judgment, analytical thinking, and a genuine passion for community impact, aligned with SJGHEL’s values.
