Position: Service Advisor
Location: Precise Truck & Equipment – 1718 Kidson Road, Nanaimo, BC
Job Description
As a Service Advisor at Precise Truck & Equipment, you’ll be the primary point of contact for our commercial and fleet clients. You’ll coordinate repairs, communicate with technicians, manage customer expectations, and ensure every client receives exceptional service from the moment they arrive until their vehicle or equipment is back in operation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building lasting customer relationships, and taking pride in helping create an efficient, customer-focused operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Greet clients and understand their vehicle or equipment concerns.
- Managing incoming phone calls, emails, and scheduling appointments while balancing shop capacity and customer priorities.
- Preparing accurate estimates and explaining repair recommendations in a clear, honest, and practical manner.
- Maintaining regular communication with clients regarding repair progress, approvals, and timelines.
- Working closely with technicians to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Managing fleet accounts while developing long-term relationships with commercial clients .
- Coordinating Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) appointments and ensuring all government inspection documentation is completed accurately and professionally.
- Assisting with the administration and workflow of Provincial Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIs), ensuring compliance with inspection standards and regulatory requirements.
- Handling customer questions and resolving concerns with professionalism and confidence.
- Utilizing shop management software to manage work orders, estimates, inventory, and customer records.
- Looking for opportunities to improve processes, customer experience, workflow, and shop efficiency through new ideas and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and helping shape the future of a growing commercial truck and equipment operation.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience as an Automotive, Commercial, or Heavy Duty Service Advisor is preferred.
- Experience coordinating or administering Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIs) is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and shop management software.
- Mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles or light-duty trucks is considered an asset.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to continuous improvement.
