Maintenance Foreman

Black Cat Wear Parts, we are currently seeking a qualified and motivated
Maintenance Foreman to lead the Maintenance team at a Made Safe® Certified manufacturing facility. Black Cat is an established producer of ground engaging tools for the road maintenance, construction, and mining sectors. Reporting to the Manufacturing Technical Manager, the Maintenance Foreman is responsible for managing all facets of plant and equipment maintenance in a 24-hour manufacturing environment. This role provides leadership to a multidisciplinary team of skilled tradespeople and plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, safe operations, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent organizational and communication skills who works collaboratively with Production and Support teams.
As the Maintenance Foreman, you will:
- Coordinate and supervise daily activities of skilled trades personnel.
- Lead maintenance operations supporting a 24-hour manufacturing facility.
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance using CMMS software.
- Manage employee development, performance, and training.
- Coordinate and manage vendors and contractors in collaboration with the Maintenance Coordinator.
- Work closely with Production and Support teams to meet operational goals.
- Promote a safe work environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.
You and Your Experience:
- Formal technical education (technology diploma or recognized trade certification) and/or proven mechanical knowledge gained through hands-on experience or self-directed learning.
- Experience supervising skilled trades is considered an asset.
- Experience managing an effective preventive maintenance program (TPM is an asset).
- Strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, CNC drills and mills, material handling equipment, heat treating equipment, and PLC-based automated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) is an asset.
