Job Overview
We are seeking a driven, proactive Logistics Lead & Inside Sales Support colleague to take ownership of our shipping and receiving processes and support our day-to-day sales team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between logistics and sales by completing our shipping processes as well as directly contacting our in-house accounts to support sales initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone who likes a mix of physical work in a warehouse, doing shipping and receiving; while also having some desk work by ensuring our shipments and deliveries documents are accurate, and the outside sales team and in-house customers receive top-tier support.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of shipments and deliveries, liaising with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and accurate transportation of goods (local, national, and international).
- Manage the receipt of incoming shipments, including verifying materials against sales and purchase orders and inspecting damage.
- Prepare and create shipping labels for outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are correctly documented and processed.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP systems and systems for tracking inventory and shipments.
- Address any issues or delays in shipments, delivery schedules, or inventory, working with the team to find timely solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian, EU, and US customs regulations, as applicable.
- Provide delivery updates and shipping quotes when requested by outside sales or client support representatives.
- Support the General Manager and Client Support Representatives with inside sales support for key accounts (generating leads, supporting customers, processing orders, developing accounts, etc.)
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams, customers, vendors, and external partners via phone and email to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory levels, and delivery schedules.
- Operate a pallet jack to move materials within the warehouse
- Ensure goods are organized and stored efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols.
- Assist with other logistics-related tasks or projects as reasonably assigned.
- Assist in technical projects when required, for instance, installations in the warehouse, cutting and punching rails, repairing blinds, etc.
Experience
- Proven experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving, customs regulations, and delivery platforms.
- Experience managing inventory in a warehouse.
- Experience operating pallet jacks and other power tools
- Excellent task organization and physical organization skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (phone, email, video calls)
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
