Mechanical Construction Coordinator
Location: 25 Corriveau Ave, St. Albert, AB
Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Manager
Position Summary
The Mechanical Construction Coordinator supports the successful delivery of multiple mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is responsible for coordination, procurement, material take-offs, and contract administration, including the management of RFIs, Site Instructions (SIs), and Change Orders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in fast-paced construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate multiple mechanical projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment
- Perform material take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Manage procurement: RFQs, vendor selection, purchase orders, and delivery tracking
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and constructability
- Prepare and track RFIs to resolve design issues and field conflicts
- Review and process Site Instructions (SIs) and assess cost/schedule impacts
- Prepare, price, and track Change Order Requests (CORs) through approval
- Maintain logs for RFIs, SIs, and Change Orders
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Monitor schedules and provide updates on mechanical scope progress
- Support cost tracking, forecasting, and change management
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety requirements
- Assist with site coordination, inspections, and quality control
- Maintain project documentation and support commissioning and closeout
Qualifications
- Diploma/degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3–7+ years of mechanical construction or coordination experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems
- Proven experience with RFIs, SIs, and Change Orders
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs

- Proficient in MS Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project preferred
Working Conditions
- Office and site-based role with travel between projects as required

Pay: $47,106.01-$76,336.99 per year
