About the Role
Kingston Online Services (KOS) is a locally owned and operated internet service provider with deep roots in Eastern Ontario, expanding to Gananoque, Lansdowne, Lyndhurst, Mallorytown, Seeley's Bay, the Charleston Lake area, and Brockville. We're looking for a Wireless Technician to join our team as we continue expanding our high-speed wireless internet into new communities. This role is a mixture of significant climbing, tower-based fieldwork and installation at customer sites. This role is suited for someone who is reliable, good with tools, great with people, an experienced climber comfortable working at significant heights, and willing to learn. What You'll Do
Climb and work safely at heights up to 300 feet on towers and rooftop structures to install, maintain, and repair wireless equipment.
Install, configure, and maintain fixed wireless internet equipment for residential and business customers.
Perform service calls, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and equipment replacements.
Assist with the installation, maintenance, and expansion of KOS wireless network infrastructure, including tower and rooftop equipment.
Diagnose and resolve wireless connectivity, networking, and performance issues.
Provide professional, friendly customer service during all customer interactions.
Complete work orders, documentation, and reporting accurately and on time.
Operate company vehicles and equipment safely while following all company safety procedures.
Work independently and as part of a team to support the reliability and growth of the KOS network.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience climbing at heights in excess of 40 feet, up to 300 feet, is required.
High Angle Rescue and Fall Protection training certification is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in telecommunications, wireless internet, networking, cable, satellite, electrical, construction, or a related field is considered an asset.
Some knowledge of networking, Wi-Fi, routers, and internet technologies is an asset.
Experience working outdoors and using ladders.
Qualifications:
Ability to climb and safely work at heights up to 300 feet is required.
Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a clean abstract.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Valid Ontario Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb and work at heights in excess of 40 feet, up to 300 feet, is a core requirement of this role.
Ability to lift 70 lbs or more.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Availability for on-call duties and occasional extended hours.
