Overview
The Licensed Automotive Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles. This role ensures that the company cars operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Technician work with mechanical, electrical, and computerized systems and must stay current with evolving automotive technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and test equipment
- Repair or replace faulty components including brakes, suspension systems, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify safety concerns or potential problems
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations to auto shop Supervisor
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used
- Follow manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices for repairs
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Stay updated on new automotive technologies, tools, and repair techniques
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures
- Ability to use computerized diagnostic equipment and hand tools
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license
- Certification (e.g., Red Seal, ASE) is an asset but not always required
- Light Diesel knowledge and repair
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in various positions (standing, bending, crouching)
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Pay: $45.00-$48.00 per hour
