EXL Engineering Inc. is currently seeking a Specialty Concrete Laboratory Technician to join our team based at our Kelowna, BC office. Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Specialty Concrete Laboratory Technician will be responsible for completing specialized laboratory testing on concrete, aggregates, and related construction materials. This position will also assist with project planning, testing coordination, report preparation, documentation review, and technical support for both internal staff and clients.
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in construction materials testing and will be expected to manage multiple testing programs and reporting deadlines simultaneously. It is important that the Specialty Concrete Laboratory Technician be proactive, organized, and able to display initiative in their work. This position will provide support to laboratory and field staff while ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable testing standards.

The main duties and responsibilities for this position includes:
- Completing specialized laboratory testing on concrete, aggregates, and related construction materials;
- Providing accurate and timely reporting and documentation to clients;
- Writing laboratory reports and reviewing reports and documents prepared by others;
- Providing technical support to clients, laboratory staff, and field staff;
- Coordinating and filing documentation for multiple projects simultaneously;
- Understanding project specifications, testing requirements, and applicable standards;
- Assisting with laboratory testing coordination between clients, project managers, and laboratory staff;
- Monitoring testing timelines and helping ensure project deadlines are met;
- Participating in process improvements and troubleshooting of quality issues;
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional laboratory work environment;
- Ensuring testing, documentation, and reporting are completed in accordance with company procedures.
