SCOPE OF POSITION
The Account Manager is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability and growth within an assigned territory by effectively selling Hood's products. This position will be responsible for the U.S West Coast portfolio.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Prepare an annual business plan for the assigned territory
- Compile and complete yearly sales and expense forecasts
- Develop & execute sales strategies with the help of the District Sales Manager
- Identify and plan Target Account strategies in conjunction with District Sales Manager
- Monitor competitive activity and trends within territory
- Conduct strategic account reviews with the Sales Manager
- With the help of the Sales Manager, monitor the territory's potential and determine the value of existing and potential customers to the organization.
- With the help of the Sales Manager, identify accounts where revenue may be shrinking and formulate strategies to address this.
- With the help of the Sales Manager, develop and maintain prospect list
- With the help of plant and sales management, expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints
- Prepare and submit weekly call reports, expense reports and monthly activity reports
- Develop strong relationships with key contacts at the given accounts and with production personnel
- Consult and cooperate with Quality, Customer Service, Production, Sales, and Finance team members
- Develop contacts with professional societies; learn best practices
- Develop working relationships with key leaders and colleagues within Hood and with appropriate suppliers
