Compensation: $148,000 - $198,000 base salary + annual performance bonus

The Opportunity
As the Metallurgy Team Leader, you will provide technical leadership and oversee the successful delivery of metallurgical studies, feasibility assessments, and engineering projects for mining clients. You will lead a team of metallurgists, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and play a key role in business development, client engagement, and the continued growth of the Mining & Metals practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of metallurgical engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
- Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of metallurgical studies, engineering projects, and mineral processing initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Provide technical leadership in mineral processing, metallurgy, and hydrometallurgical systems for both greenfield and brownfield mining projects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted technical advisor.
- Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, presentations, and client engagement activities.
- Review technical deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across process, mechanical, civil, electrical, and project management disciplines.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across project delivery.
- Provide strategic guidance on metallurgical process design and engineering solutions to meet client objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in metallurgy, mineral processing, and process engineering within the mining industry.
- Previous experience leading and mentoring technical engineering teams.
- Strong background delivering feasibility studies, process design, and detailed engineering projects.
- Experience within an engineering consulting environment is highly preferred.
- Experience with HSC Chemistry and/or METSIM is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to develop strong client relationships and support business development initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
