Job Title: Directional Driller (HDD)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Directional Driller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment to install underground conduit and utilities safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience in telecommunications, utility construction, and underground installations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Operate HDD drilling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete bore paths according to project plans and utility locates.
- Install HDPE conduit for fiber optic and underground utility projects.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs.
- Work closely with the HDD Locator and construction crew.
- Read and interpret utility locates, construction drawings, and work orders.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate production reports and daily paperwork.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
- Travel to various job sites as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment.
- Valid driver's license (Class 1 or Class 3 is an asset).
- Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drilling equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of underground utility construction and safe digging practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Ground Disturbance, First Aid, and other safety certifications are considered an asset.

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
