Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Driving Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for educating new drivers on safe driving practices, traffic laws, and vehicle operation. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students in behind-the-wheel instruction. As a Driving Instructor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of responsible drivers.
Duties
- Provide hands-on driving instruction to students in various driving conditions.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their driving skills.
- Develop lesson plans that meet requirements and cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
- Communicate effectively with students and their guardians regarding progress, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and completion of required training.
- Stay updated on changes in traffic laws and best practices in driver education.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving and insurance record (proof of clean drivers abstract will be required). Min of 25 years of age for insurance reasons.
- Driver's instructor license (willing and able to be trained to obtain certification)
- Clean criminal record
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate effectively.
- Patience and the ability to work with individuals of varying skill levels.
- Knowledge of vehicle operation and traffic laws.
- Ability to create an engaging learning environment that fosters student participation.
- Willing to learn how to drive properly so you can share those skills with new drivers.

Successful candidate will have to attend a driving instructor course and have to pass all MTO requirements. The company will supply a car for teaching out of.
Rate of pay is $29.00 if you are using my vehicle. If you are supplying your vehicle (you would have to supply your car, your insurance, your gas and maintenance), you can make up to but not limited to $70 per hour. (
Seeing we are dealing with mostly students who are in high school, you will be required to work around their availability. This is not a 9-5 job but there is some flexibility with scheduling. Training will be in Thunder Bay and will start in July.
