Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with hands-on experience working with various types of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures and extend operational lifespan.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assemble, disassemble, and replace components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of service procedures, parts used, and repair history for each piece of equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician or Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, Caterpillar equipment, forklifts, HVAC systems, and other industrial equipment.
- Skilled in welding, electrical repairs, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting using schematics.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with automotive repair principles is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Valid certification or apprenticeship completion as a Journeyman/woman Heavy Equipment Technician is required. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for experienced technicians committed to quality workmanship and safety standards in the heavy equipment industry.
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
