We need an Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team! You want to be part of our Rehabilitation Department to help provide quality, exercise-based, goal-directed occupational therapy services to both inpatients and outpatients. In this role our goal is to help people achieve their highest potential following an injury, surgery, or health decline. You will get to empower people to rebuild strength, regain independence, help them return to the activities that matter most to them, and much more!

As the successful applicant, you will do the following:
- Assesses patients referred for inpatient occupational therapy services.
- Develops an appropriate treatment program based on the patient’s ability and limitations; setting short- and long-term goals. This includes referral to other services required to meet these goals.

Implements the treatment plan through provision of appropriate occupational therapy (and delegation of appropriate supervised acts).

Educates and informs the patient and family before, during and at the termination of treatment to help the patient understand their condition and maximize their functional return.

Reassesses patient progress and goals to ensure appropriate progression of treatment.

Support the development and implementation of best practice models for occupational therapy.

Provides input to the patient’s physician and other members of the health care team through direct personal discussion, inter-disciplinary conferences, and maintenance of adequate records and regular notes on the patient’s chart. Records include assessment, evaluation of progress, and discharge summary.
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario

Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
Preferred
- 1-year experience in an acute care hospital setting
