The Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems within our production environment. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting safe and efficient shop operations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Repair and maintain saws, punch machines, fabrication equipment, conveyors, compressors, and other shop machinery
- Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and equipment as required
Facility Maintenance
- Support general building maintenance including lighting, doors, docks, compressors, and facility systems
- Coordinate and assist with outside contractors and service providers when required
- Maintain maintenance records, service logs, and inventory of repair parts and supplies
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulations
- Ensure equipment is operating safely and report unsafe conditions immediately
- Participate in lockout/tagout procedures and preventative safety inspections
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area and work environment
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency
- Assist with equipment upgrades, shop layout improvements, and process improvements
- Work collaboratively with production staff and supervisors to support operational goals
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A) preferred, or equivalent maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial operations
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings
- Welding and fabrication experience considered an asset
- Forklift and/or scissor lift certification considered an asset
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment
- Physically capable of lifting materials, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
Pay: $35.00-$43.00 per hour
