Full Job Description
Kinderplace Childcare Centre is seeking a proactive and collaborative Child Care Supervisor to support the daily operations of our programs in partnership with the Executive Director. This role works closely with staff, families, and community partners to help ensure high-quality care, strong program delivery, and excellent service for children and families.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, staff support, operational oversight, and program guidance across both Vance and Ecole Gron Morgan sites. The Supervisor will also assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Director and may work additional hours as required to support operational needs during those periods.
Kinderplace operates in a unionized environment represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees. This is a management position and is excluded from the bargaining unit.
Qualifications
· Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
· 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a child care or early years setting
· Knowledge of staff scheduling, conflict resolution, performance management, and recruitment practices; HR experience is considered an asset
· Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014
· Sound knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? and ELECT tools
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to mentor staff, students, and team members in a professional and supportive manner
· Flexibility to support changing program and operational needs
Key Responsibilities
· Support the daily management of the child care centre in accordance with centre policies, program philosophy, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, and the Collective Agreement
· Assist with hiring, onboarding, supervision, mentoring, and performance management of staff
· Provide administrative and operational support across both sites
· Help review and update centre policies to support regulatory compliance and best practices
· Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment
· Support staff through coaching, conflict resolution, and performance guidance
· Collaborate with outside agencies to support children, families, and program quality
· Help ensure programs operate safely, effectively, and in compliance with applicable requirements
Site-Specific Responsibilities (EGM)
· Act as the liaison between Ecole Gron Morgan school administration and Kinderplace
· Maintain site licensing requirements and related documentation
· Manage enrolment, registration, orientation, attendance records, and child documentation
· Maintain up-to-date records for emergency contacts, medical needs, and dietary restrictions
· Complete monthly centre billing, OCCMS billing, and staff counts for DSSAB
· Coordinate registration processes for PA Day and March Break programs in collaboration with the Executive Director
· Mentor staff and support the quality of after-school programming
· Provide direct program support when replacement staff are unavailable, in accordance with the Collective Agreement
· Serve as a point of contact for families and respond to inquiries as needed
· Manage and order supplies, equipment, and groceries to support daily program operations
· Report regularly to the Executive Director on operations, staffing, compliance, and follow-up items
· Participate in workshops, training sessions, staff meetings, and Board meetings, which may occasionally occur outside regular working hours

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per day
