Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal oral health.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling using dental software.
- Sterilize instruments and ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
- Support front office duties such as answering phones and greeting patients when needed.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; experience in orthodontics is a plus.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Abledent is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Certification in Dental Assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technologies in dentistry.
