The Role
**Please note this is a temporary assignment, covering part-time hours, for up to 10 months**
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Nurse works as part of a team to ensure a better quality of life for residents and their families in keeping with the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario and Long Term Care Standards.
To qualify, you'll need...
RN Degree or Diploma and current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN
Six (6) months of general nursing experience
Valid First Aid and CPR C Certificate
Preference will be given to applicants with geriatric and/or leadership experience
Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNSc) preferred
Member of Gerontology Nursing Association (GNA) and/or Certification in Gerontology preferred
Must demonstrate corporate values of Belonging, Collaboration, Accountability, and Innovation
Able to perform the essential duties of the job
Interpersonal skills which facilitate effective leadership, interactions and communication with residents, staff, families, visitors, volunteers, outside agencies and service providers
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Superior organizational and time management skills
Strong commitment to continuous learning
Proof of recent screening for Tuberculosis (TB)
Proof of immunity to communicable diseases
Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check, including vulnerable sector.
