Location
This position is eligible for a hybrid work model. When attending an event or meeting in person, your primary office location will be based out of City Hall. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands. Effective September 2027, this role will be required to be on site 50% of the time each month.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Product Manager, 365, this position will work with application users, project teams, business analysts, and other Burlington Digital Services (BDS) staff to implement and support corporate and departmental business applications. You will serve as a key technical specialist and solution builder across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, with a strong focus on delivering low-code solutions using Power Platform, AI-enabled capabilities, and M365 collaboration portfolio including SharePoint, Viva, Teams, OneDrive, and other collaboration tools.
Responsibilities
The Application Analyst, as part of the team, will be responsible for:
Serving as the key BDS resource in support of the M365 collaboration portfolio of tools
Designing and delivering digital solutions using Power Platform, Microsoft 365 and AI-enabled platform (e.g., Copilot Studio).
Develop solutions using Power Platform, Copilot, M365 apps and related services.
Assisting and supporting our business users in solving technical issues with guidance and real-time coaching.
Understanding business goals and requirements, and translating them into scalable, user-friendly solutions that support business outcomes.
As a trusted subject matter expert in Power Platform and M365 ecosystem, identify and pursue additional opportunities to bring value to staff.
Support the strategic lifecycle management for the M365 eco systems determining the impact of release changes on existing solution portfolio.
Through participation in internal and external user groups and vendor groups, share M365 collaboration solution best practices to promote application utilization.
Contribute to documentation and knowledgebase content.
Promoting best practices and supporting user adoption through collaboration with internal teams and stakeholder groups.
Requirements
You have a post-secondary degree or diploma with a strong emphasis on Information Technology. Microsoft certifications are considered an asset.
At least 5 years of experience working with Power Platform and Microsoft 365 technologies.
Hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting low-code solutions using Power Platform, such as Power Apps, Power Pages, and Power Automate or similar technologies.
Possess Microsoft 365 knowledge and understanding of security and compliance capabilities related to collaboration.
Experience developing or configuring digital solutions, portals, or collaboration tools with a focus on usability and user experience.
Experience with AI-enabled platforms such as Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, or similar technologies.
Solid understanding of SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams architecture and administration. Working knowledge of JSON, JavaScript, CSS and KQL (Keyword Query language).
Familiarity with Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Flow, Logic Apps, Microsoft Graph, and SharePoint Modern Pages/Web Parts.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within an organization.
