Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our warehouse team. This role involves selecting, packing, and preparing products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience and familiarity with heavy equipment operation, contributing to smooth warehouse operations and timely order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick orders using warehouse management systems and order picker equipment
- Load and unload products utilizing heavy equipment such as forklifts, crane, clamp truck, or other heavy machinery
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts and clamp trucks, following all safety protocols
- Prepare packages for shipping by packing items securely and labeling correctly
- Maintain organization of inventory in storage areas for easy retrieval and stock control
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities, including verifying incoming shipments and restocking supplies
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to move products within the warehouse
- Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and improve workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, or clamp trucks is highly desirable
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or order picking technology is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely
- Strong attention to detail for accurate order picking and packing
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks involving lifting or moving heavy items
- Prior experience with packing
