Job Summary
The Production Service Technician is responsible for the production, testing, installation and troubleshooting of electrical and technical systems associated with diesel or gas-powered generating systems. You will provide the highest quality of workmanship, which will enhance our Company's corporate image and reputation, thereby improving growth.
What You’ll Do
- Building and customizing generator systems and related equipment in accordance with instructions and specifications.
- Wiring an installing various electrical equipment
- Performing major and minor repairs to various engines, generators, control systems, and power switching equipment
- Testing and troubleshooting generator control systems to ensure that the unit operates in accordance with build instructors and specification
- Carrying out start-up inspections of new or rebuilt equipment installations
- Performing on-site load test to ensure system is running properly.
- Assisting with other related tasks as deemed appropriate by management
- Use on-site heavy equipment, such as forklift, to facilitate the organization of work by moving units and related items in and out of the shop as well as around the yard as needed.
What You Need
- Experience exceeding 1 year in related field
- College/University education in Electrical Engineering is an asset
• Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude • Adaptability and ability to work well under pressure
- Experience operating a forklift / overhead crane an asset
Working Conditions
- Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade
- Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
- Hazards associated with conducting work outdoors
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 100lbs.
- Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
- Regular exposure to conditions including heat, humidity, and dust
