About Us:
Whycocomagh Lakeview Child Care Society (WLCCS) is a child care centre based in Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia. Our centre runs a full day program for children 18 months to 4 years that runs year-round. We also run an after-school care program for children aged 4 years to 12 years from September to June. Our full day program has a maximum of 18 children in our care. Our afterschool program has a maximum of 15 children in our care. Our goal is to provide quality childcare to families in the area and take down the barrier of childcare for our working families. Our hours of operation are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Job Description:
Whycocomagh Lakeview Child Care Society is seeking new employees to join our team. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children and providing quality child care. We are looking to build our casual list so that we have security for our staff and families.
Job Duties:
- Greet each child with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Assist in the planning and implementing of age-appropriate activities.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with families, co-workers and supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment.
- Follow Public Health protocols and guidelines for cleaning procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and represent WLCCS in a professional manner.
- Use proper documentation of all incidents and follow policies.
- Follow WLCCS behaviour guidance policy.
- Inspect toys and rid of all sharp/broken toys.
Qualifications:
- ECE Classification, desired but not mandatory
- First Aid/CPR Level C
- Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector
- Child Abuse Register
- Food Safety, an asset but not mandatory

Pay: $16.75-$32.19 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Whycocomagh, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
