Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent front desk service and guiding them through check-in procedures
- Manage multi-line phone systems, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient inquiries with professionalism and clarity
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems such as Med Access, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with insurance verification, billing processes, and collection of patient payments as needed
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external labs or pharmacies to facilitate timely care
- Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, managing supplies, and handling administrative documentation
- Handle administrative duties including data entry, filing, faxing, scanning documents, and managing office correspondence
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Office Assistant or in a similar healthcare administrative role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Med Access
- Previous medical office experience is highly desirable
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment
- Proficiency in office equipment including multi-line phone systems, computers, and office software
- Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and external partners
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive patient information
