Job Overview
We are seeking dependable Security Personnel to ensure the safety and security for buildings and retail. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, well groomed, excellent observational skills. This PT role involves monitoring shoppers, surveillance systems, and implementing loss prevention strategies to maintain a secure environment.
This is a PART TIME position
Responsibilities
- Monitor security cameras and surveillance equipment (CCTV) to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or vandalism activities and reporting them accordingly.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation of daily activities.
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary to resolve security issues.
- Uphold company policies and procedures related to safety and security standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in Security, or related fields is preferred.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and accurately.
- Well groomed.
- Physically fit to perform patrols and respond quickly when needed.
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining a secure environment.
Requirements:
- Valid Security Guard License and CPR certification.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing.
- Minimum of 2 years ‘verified’ Ontario Security Guard experience with residential building or retail experience
- Security and Police Foundations Diploma is a plus.
- Emergency management skills, de-escalation, use of force
- Access to a personal vehicle is considered an asset.
- Must live in Kitchener/Waterloo area.
