Position Overview
The Housekeeping staff are front line individuals who are a direct reflection of our customer experience. They are responsible and accountable for maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the marina to ensure continued high standards.
Essential Job Functions
· Provide exceptional, friendly and professional customer experience to all marina patrons
· Facilitate room flips in Air Bnb/rentals
· Perform all housekeeping duties in the Hindson Marina/other Marina’s buildings including but not limited to Floatel, Float Home, rental buildings, washroom facilities, laundry room, chandlery, offices, etc.
· Clean and sanitize public restrooms and shower facilities daily
· Manage cleaning inventory
· May be called upon to perform marine detailing
· Report any maintenance or repair issues immediately to the office to facilitate action
· Provide a clean and friendly atmosphere while maintaining an orderly environment
· Carry out any other duties that may be requested by Hindson Management to maintain the facilities
Other Skills and Abilities:
· Continually strive to meet the Hindson Marina standard of customer experience
· Follow, understand and practice all Hindson Marina policies and procedures (ex: workplace health and safety, environmental, human resources, etc)
· Report any incidents and/or accidents directly and immediately to your supervisor
Requirements:
· Minimum 6 months previous custodial or cleaning experience, especially in commercial cleaning settings
· Must be available to work Monday to Sunday, five days a week, weekends and holidays
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough cleaning tasks
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
· Good physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks and lift light to moderate loads
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
· Must be capable of working at heights (cleaning the loft of the float home and other areas that require a ladder)
· Must possess superior customer service skills
· Ability to swim and tread water for two minutes is an asset
· Must work well as a team or individually
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset
Working Conditions:
· Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30lbs without assistance
· Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
· Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
· Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
· Significant exposure to varying weather conditions
· May encounter excessive noise from boat engines and equipment
· May encounter noxious smells from wastewater, gasoline and diesel fuel
· May encounter hazardous materials, dangerous or toxic substances and chemicals

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
