Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy configurations.
- Administer Linux-based systems and utilise scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash (Unix shell) for automation tasks.
- Oversee network infrastructure including TCP/IP configuration, VPNs, firewalls, and switches to ensure secure connectivity across the organisation.
- Support virtualisation platforms such as VMware and utilise cloud services like AWS and Azure for deployment and management of resources.
- Monitor system performance, perform regular updates, patches, backups, and disaster recovery procedures to minimise downtime.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint sites, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and organisational collaboration tools.
- Implement security measures including firewall management, VPN setup, and system hardening to protect against cyber threats.
- Provide technical support to staff regarding hardware, software issues, and network connectivity; deliver excellent customer service.
- Analyse system logs and network traffic to identify potential issues or security breaches; generate reports for management review.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and policies; assist in planning IT projects aligned with organisational objectives.
Experience
- Proven experience in system administration within a complex IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (including Active Directory), Linux systems, VMware virtualisation platforms, and cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, DNS/DHCP configuration, VPNs, firewalls, and TCP/UDP troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash for automation purposes.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and Python programming is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills in English; capable of explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
