This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office in Mississauga at a minimum 2 - 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
1. OCR, Document Processing & Workflow Platforms
- Lead design and support of enterprise document ingestion and data extraction systems, including OCR-enabled platforms.
- Oversee intelligent document processing pipelines involving:
o Document capture and ingestion
o OCR-based text/data extraction
o Data validation and transformation
o Workflow routing and processing
- Manage systems that handle high-volume transactional or document-based data processing workflows.
- Ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability of data recognition and extraction processes.
- Support integration of OCR/document systems with:
o Enterprise applications
o Workflow engines
o Reporting and analytics platforms
- Drive improvements in automation, data accuracy, and processing efficiency.
2. Platform Engineering & Enterprise Systems
- Lead modernization of enterprise platforms supporting data processing and workflow automation.
- Architect scalable systems for structured and unstructured data processing.
- Drive integration using REST APIs and enterprise service layers.
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
3. Development Operations & Production Support
- Own end-to-end lifecycle: design development deployment production support.
- Lead global operations teams supporting mission-critical processing systems.
- Ensure 24/7 system reliability and SLA adherence.
- Drive incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
4. Data Processing, Integrations & Automation
- Design and manage data-intensive processing systems handling enterprise-scale transactions.
- Lead integration with enterprise platforms such as:
o Defect tracking systems
o ERP platforms
o Workflow and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira)
- Implement automation for document/data processing workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
5. Cloud Transformation & DevOps
- Drive migration of processing platforms to cloud-aligned architectures (OCI).
- Implement DevOps practices for continuous delivery and operational efficiency.
- Improve system scalability for large data and document processing workloads.
6. Operations Excellence & Governance
- Establish structured workflows, documentation, and operational processes.
- Monitor processing throughput, system performance, and operational KPIs.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across processing systems.
- Drive continuous optimization of processing accuracy and turnaround times.
7. Leadership & Team Management
- Build and lead high-performing global engineering and operations teams.
- Provide strategic direction for platform evolution and modernization.
- Foster collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Drive culture of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Kofax TotalAgility (TTA) including Kofax Capture, Transformation Modules, and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP).
- Core Skills: Design, develop, and support Kofax TTA workflows, document classification, extraction, validation, exception handling, and end-to-end capture-to-ECM/BPM integrations.
- GenAI & AI Stack: Experience integrating Generative AI and AI/ML services into document workflows (LLMs, document understanding, summarization, entity extraction, conversational search).
Technical Stack:
- Languages & Scripting: JavaScript, .NET, C#, Python
- Platforms & Tools: Kofax TotalAgility, Kofax Capture, Kofax RPA, OCR/ICR, REST APIs, JSON/XML
- Cloud & DevOps: Azure/AWS/GCP, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker (nice to have)
- Strong experience in banking or regulated environments, including security, compliance, performance tuning, production support, documentation, and mentoring junior developers.
**CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
