Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Associate to join our team in Sinco Food Equipment. In this role, you will support our mission by assisting with food handling, preparation, and customer service at our store in 2000 Shantz Station Rd, Breslau. Your contribution will help us deliver top-quality products and service to our clients across the region.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Halal Middle Eastern and Turkish-style dishes using specialized imported commercial kitchen equipment (e.g., pide ovens, manakish ovens, lahmacun ovens, shawarma machines, doner machines, yufka machines, lokma machines, and similar).
· Demonstrate proper use and functionality of Halal-compatible imported equipment through cooking presentations for staff, clients, and showroom events.
· Plan Halal-compliant menus, portion food, and maintain high standards of taste, presentation, hygiene, and food safety.
· Ensure all food preparation complies with Halal guidelines, Ontario food safety regulations, and company policies (including maintaining a valid Ontario Food Handler Certificate).
· Prepare meals for company staff and special events as required.
· Work collaboratively with the team to support showroom and business operations.
Requirements:
- Plan, organize, and supervise the preparation and cooking of Middle Eastern and Turkish specialty dishes.
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items including pide, manakish, lahmacun, shawarma, doner, kebabs, yufka, lokma, and other traditional dishes using specialized imported equipment.
- Develop recipes, ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate cooking activities.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Manage kitchen inventory and order supplies, including specialized ingredients and equipment parts.
- Work with imported Turkish and Middle Eastern kitchen equipment for optimal results.
· At least 1–2 years of commercial cooking experience; experience preparing Halal Middle Eastern or Turkish cuisine is a strong asset.
· Knowledge of Halal food preparation guidelines and food safety practices.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks.
· Basic English for communication, safety compliance, labelling, and teamwork (required).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour
