We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Consulting Services (DCS) to lead strategic delivery excellence across operations, projects, and transformational technology initiatives. This role is accountable for driving client success, operational performance, project and portfolio delivery, and financial outcomes through leadership of high-performing cross-functional teams. The Director will work with clients, partners, and internal leadership to deliver innovative, scalable, and business-aligned solutions while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
This role combines operational leadership, project/program delivery management, and strategic alignment to ensure technology services, transformation initiatives, and operational objectives support evolving client and business priorities. You will guide cross-functional teams in operational excellence, agile delivery practices, service reliability, and collaboration. The role requires balancing day-to-day operational management with strategic project execution while ensuring alignment to client expectations, business goals, governance standards, and delivery commitments.
Your future duties and responsibilities
As a Director of Consulting Services with a delivery and team focus, you will:
. Own service delivery and client success, ensuring engagements are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable business outcomes that exceed client expectations
. Drive end-to-end delivery excellence, including delivery methodologies for operations, quality assurance, risk management, and continuous improvement practices
. Lead end-to-end delivery of DevOps, cloud, infrastructure, automation, digital transformation, and platform initiatives
. Manage concurrent operational and project-based workstreams across multiple teams and environments, aligned to client-prioritized business value and outcomes
. Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, blended delivery teams, balancing operational excellence, continuous improvement, collaboration, and a culture of accountability
. Collaborate on resource planning, workload balancing, and capability development to ensure flexible, scalable delivery capacity
. Foster relationship management and stakeholder engagement, acting as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs, anticipating challenges, and guiding them toward successful outcomes
. Maintain visibility into delivery and financial performance, adjusting forecasts and actions to optimize engagements
. Identify opportunities for business growth, operational optimization, and expanded delivery capabilities by leveraging innovative thinking and emerging technologies to drive transformational outcomes
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
To succeed as a DCS focused on delivery and team growth, you will have:
. 10+ years of consulting delivery leadership experience, with progressive leadership responsibility in managing teams and complex engagements
. Demonstrated success in leading delivery teams to achieve operational, project/portfolio and strategic outcomes, including client satisfaction metrics, quality goals, and performance KPIs
. Strong experience with resource planning, delivery governance, and performance management in a professional services or consulting environment
. Excellent people leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and developing talent across multiple disciplines and levels
. Proven ability to drive operational improvements, implement best practices, and streamline delivery processes
. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence at senior levels
. Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree is a strong asset
Desired Qualifications
. Experience with delivery frameworks and methodologies (SAFe, Agile, kanban, waterfall, hybrid) and tools that support quality, predictability, and efficiency
. Background in Health or public sector domains
. Experience working with cross-functional or distributed delivery teams
. Track record of contributing to digital transformation and technology modernization
Education and Certification
. Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
. Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) or professional certifications (SAFe, PMP, ITIL, Agile/Scrum) are highly valued
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,000 - $200,000.
