Job Description:
Resilient Roots Counselling is a well established, small, collaborative group practice that specializes in trauma counselling, located in Victoria, BC.
We are seeking a skilled and grounded independent contractor to join our growing team. Our practice is known for a warm, non-judgmental, welcoming environment, a nervous system informed approach, and genuine respect for both clients and clinicians. We provide trauma-informed therapy services to youth and adults, supporting individuals experiencing stress and anxiety, low mood and depression, trauma and PTSD (including early developmental trauma), complex mental health issues, overwhelm and significant life transitions.
Position Details:
Located in Victoria, BC
- Independent Contractor Position - open to RCC, CCC, RSW/MSW, Psychologist or other relevant professional registration in good standing.
- Part time: Minimum 5hrs/week, with opportunity to grow towards 10-15+ hours per week.
- Must have availability for in-person sessions at our office in Victoria.
- Flexible Scheduling with agreed practice hours.
- Support for referrals, screening, and onboarding clients.
- Supportive consultation environment with opportunities for collaboration.
Duties
- Provide counselling services to youth and/or adults within your scope of practice.
- Maintain timely and complete clinical documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Clinical Counsellor (or equivalent) in good standing with their professional body.
- Eligible to practice independently in BC.
- Master's degree in Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of clinical counselling experience.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to ongoing professional growth.
- Maintain liability insurance independently.
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check.
Assets:
- Preference given to candidates who have advanced trauma training, including but not limited to: Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Internal Family Systems
- Training in OCD treatment modalities, including ERP.
- Preference given to candidates who have completed certifications beyond their master's program.
- Experience with children/youth is an asset.
- Experience with couples is an asset.
- Experience/comfortability working with high risk individuals is an asset.
- Experience supporting neurodivergent clients is an asset.
- Willingness to offer evening or weekend appointments is an asset.
