Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and goods to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Duties
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight across local, regional, or national routes
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and proper functioning
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip
- Assist with vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, including automotive repair tasks when needed
- Ensure compliance with all transportation laws, safety regulations, and company policies
- Coordinate with warehouse staff for efficient loading/unloading processes
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for freight handling
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and freight transportation preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely
- Knowledge of automotive repair and basic vehicle maintenance is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and transportation regulations
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and perform physical tasks related to freight handling
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with route planning
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual tasks associated with freight handling
