We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Process Server based in Yellowknife to assist with service of legal documents in the region.
Role Overview
As a Process Server, you will be responsible for delivering legal documents to individuals and businesses in accordance with court rules and legal requirements. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to complete assignments independently.
Responsibilities
- Personally serve legal documents (such as statements of claim, subpoenas, and court notices) to individuals and businesses
- Conduct service attempts at residential and commercial locations
- Complete detailed notes of each service attempt
- Provide clear communication and status updates after each attempt
- Complete and sign affidavits or declarations of service when required
- Return served documents and reports promptly
Requirements
- Must be located in or near Yellowknife, NT
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s licence
- Smartphone with camera and internet access
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage assignments
- Experience in process serving, legal services, investigations, or courier work is an asset (but not required)
Compensation
- $75 per completed file
- Rate includes mileage and standard disbursements
- Additional compensation may apply for unusual circumstances or extended travel
