As a Cook at Johnny Greeko’s, you’ll bring our bold Greek flavours to life by preparing and cooking menu items using ovens, the vertical broiler, grill, flat top, steam table, and pita table. You’ll ensure every dish meets our standards for freshness, speed, and presentation while keeping your station clean and organized throughout service. We’re looking for dependable team players who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen and take pride in serving great food made right.
Key Responsibilities:

Understand completely and follows all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.

Prepares (cooks) and ensures consistent, high-quality products are served to guests, as described in the Johnny Greeko’s policies and procedures and job helpers. Will use ovens, vertical broiler, grill, flat top, steam table, pita table and other equipment. Work environment can be very warm.

Assists with food preparation as needed. (Preparing raw ingredients.)

Maintains a collaborative relationship with fellow employees, management and guests.

Achieve company objectives in food quality, food costs, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Assists with dish washing and restaurant cleaning.

Performs any other duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements:

Experience working an oven, flat top and grill is considered an asset.

Understanding and passion for working in a restaurant kitchen.

Ability to assess, prioritize and prepare food needs.

Must be able to read and follow recipes and communicate needs and concerns.

Be friendly, responsible, and a caring team player.

Be dependable, hard working and able to work quickly to meet goals.

Food Handler certification will be an asset, or must obtain after hire
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
Working conditions are normal for a restaurant environment. Work will involve lifting and moving of materials and product up to 75 pounds and standing for long periods of time. Working in this environment requires the use of machinery and equipment including but not limited to; different types of knives, salad spinner, can opener, scales, microwave, ovens, industrial mixer, vertical broiler, grill, flat top, fryer, steam table, pita table, walk-in cooler, freezer, sham, cleaning supplies, climb a ladder etc.
